Privacy Policy
Effective: 13 September 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how PressBench (the “App”) handles information. PressBench is provided by Lateef Razaq-Oyetola carrying on business as GoodUse Studios, Ontario, Canada (“GoodUse Studios,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). It covers the iOS and Android releases; platform-specific differences are identified below.
1. Privacy at a glance
- PressBench is a local-first heat-press production log. No PressBench account or sign-in is required.
- Operational records and preferences are stored in the App’s private on-device storage. GoodUse Studios does not operate a production-data server and does not receive those records during ordinary use.
- The App does not contain advertising, analytics, crash-reporting, attribution or tracking SDKs, does not display ads and does not use App activity for advertising or tracking.
- On iOS, optional backup and restore use Apple’s Files interface and occur only when you initiate them. Reports are generated locally and shared only when you choose a destination.
- GoodUse Studios does not sell or rent personal information or production records, and does not share them for cross-context behavioural advertising.
2. Information handled by the App
Depending on how you use PressBench, on-device records may include machine and setup details; material and transfer labels; temperature, time and pressure values; job references and free-text notes; run, timer, first-piece and quality-control state; production, rework and waste quantities; issue notes, timestamps and App preferences; purchase-entitlement status; and the monotonic free-run count used to enforce the applicable platform allowance.
On both iOS and Android, the free allowance is ten qualifying runs. A run uses one free allowance only after it is successfully committed and saved and records at least one processed item or a first-piece attempt. Starting, leaving or discarding a run before save, and a failed save or commit, do not use the allowance. A saved run counts even if its recorded quality outcome is unsuccessful. New customers can subscribe to PressBench Pro monthly for unlimited runs and locally generated production reports while the subscription is active.
Some fields accept free text. Do not enter personal, customer, employee, confidential or trade-secret information unless it is necessary and you are authorised to store it.
GoodUse Studios cannot see, recover, edit or remotely delete these local operational records. Apple may include iOS App data in a user-controlled device backup or transfer, depending on the user’s settings. Android application backup and device-to-device transfer are disabled for the Android release.
3. Platform permissions and device features
iOS
PressBench does not request access to location, contacts, calendars, photos, the camera, the microphone or health data.
If you enable timer notifications, PressBench asks iOS for notification permission and schedules timer alerts locally on the device. Notification text is not sent to GoodUse Studios. You can disable notifications in PressBench settings or iOS Settings.
Optional backup import and export use Apple’s Files picker. You select the file or destination; PressBench does not select a storage provider or upload a backup automatically.
Android
PressBench does not request access to location, contacts, calendars, the camera, the microphone, nearby devices or health data on Android. It uses Google Play Billing to load, purchase, acknowledge and restore the PressBench Pro subscription. The Android App contains no advertising, consent, analytics, crash-reporting, attribution or tracking SDK.
Android report export uses the system document interface. You choose the destination, and PressBench writes the selected PDF or CSV report only after you initiate export. Setup photos remain in private App storage and are not uploaded by PressBench.
4. Backups and reports
Tap the gear icon to open Settings. Under Local Data & Backups, Create backup opens Apple’s Files interface. You may choose iCloud Drive, On My iPhone or another Files provider available on the device. Import backup lets you select a compatible PressBench backup; the App validates it and shows a confirmation summary before replacing local operational data.
A backup can contain machines, setups, completed runs, selected portable App settings and up to ten qualifying free-run batch identifiers. It excludes App Store entitlement and active-run session state. Restore merges valid qualifying free-run identifiers already recorded on the device with those in the backup and qualifying restored runs, up to ten; it never lowers recorded usage.
PressBench backup files are not encrypted by the App. Anyone with access to a backup may be able to read it, including its free-text fields. Protect the destination and its sharing permissions. GoodUse Studios does not receive, control or remotely delete user-chosen backup files.
Eligible reports are generated locally. Active iOS Pro subscribers can generate PDF/XLSX reports, and active Android Pro subscribers can generate PDF/CSV reports. A system share or document interface opens only when you choose to export. A selected email, messaging, cloud-storage or other destination handles the shared copy under that provider’s privacy practices.
5. Purchases and purchase information
iOS
Free iOS users receive ten qualifying runs under the rule described in Section 2. PressBench Pro is offered to new customers through the monthly auto-renewable subscription pressbench_unlimited_monthly_ios. The current localized price is displayed before purchase in Apple’s purchase sheet, which is authoritative for the price, currency, tax, billing period and transaction terms shown to you. While active, the subscription provides unlimited runs and locally generated PDF/XLSX reports. The App may continue to recognize a previously acquired, verified pressbench_unlimited_annual_ios entitlement until its StoreKit expiration date, but that annual product is not loaded, displayed or offered for sale to new customers.
Apple handles checkout, payment, refund and purchase verification through StoreKit. PressBench processes StoreKit product and transaction identifiers, purchase and expiration dates and verification state in memory to determine access. Operational storage and manual backup files exclude entitlement data; PressBench rebuilds access from StoreKit at launch. The free-run usage ledger is stored locally, including in the iOS Keychain, and is designed to survive ordinary deletion or reinstall on the same device. GoodUse Studios does not receive payment-card details.
The monthly subscription renews automatically each month until canceled in the user’s Apple Account subscription settings. PressBench can restore eligible subscriptions.
Android
Free Android users receive the same ten qualifying runs described in Section 2. PressBench Pro is offered to new Android customers through the monthly auto-renewable subscription pressbench_unlimited_monthly_android; a verified existing pressbench_unlimited_annual_android entitlement may remain recognized until it expires, but the annual product is not offered to new customers. While active, Pro provides unlimited runs and locally generated PDF/CSV reports.
Google Play handles Android checkout, payment, renewal, cancellation, refund and entitlement verification. PressBench processes purchase tokens as needed for acknowledgement and verification and stores a signed, time-limited entitlement-verification record locally for offline continuity. GoodUse Studios does not receive payment-card details, although Apple or Google may make sales, financial or limited transaction information available to the publisher under their services.
Deleting operational records does not reset the free-run allowance on either platform. Existing records remain readable after the free limit is reached. See Purchases and Subscriptions.
6. Information GoodUse Studios may receive
GoodUse Studios does not collect data from the App during ordinary use. We may receive limited information in these separate situations:
- Support contact. If you email us, we receive your email address and anything you include. We use it to respond, troubleshoot, prevent abuse, protect legal rights and meet legal obligations. Do not send passwords, payment-card details, purchase tokens, full production databases, customer information or confidential supplier information.
- Legal and support website. These pages are hosted using GitHub Pages. GoodUse Studios does not intentionally add advertising or marketing analytics. GitHub may process technical request, security, device/browser, log and cookie information under its own privacy practices.
- Store and destination providers. Apple, Google, an email provider, a browser, a Files provider or another destination you select may process information under its own terms and privacy policy.
Where applicable, we process support correspondence to respond to your request, perform or support our agreement with you, protect the App and our legal rights, comply with law, and pursue legitimate operational interests that do not override your rights. We rely on consent where required by law.
7. Retention, deletion and control
Operational records remain on the device until you delete them, clear App storage, uninstall the App or the operating system removes them.
On iOS, tap the gear icon to open Settings, then choose Delete Local Data and confirm. This action is unavailable while a run is active. When available, it clears supported operational records, stored session and draft state and preferences, and cancels the pending PressBench timer notification. It intentionally preserves the monotonic ten-free-run usage ledger; StoreKit remains the authority for subscription access. The Keychain copy of the usage ledger may remain after uninstalling and reinstalling on the same device.
On Android, Delete Local Data clears operational records and preferences but intentionally preserves the separately stored free-run counter and signed, time-limited entitlement-verification record. Clearing all Android App storage or uninstalling removes App-local storage; qualifying purchases can be restored from Google Play.
Backup files and reports exported from PressBench are separate copies. Delete or manage them in Files or with the selected destination provider. Delete Local Data does not delete those copies, support email already sent, Apple-managed device backups or information independently processed by Apple, Google, GitHub or another selected provider.
For a concise control guide, see Local Data and Deletion.
8. Retention by GoodUse Studios
We ordinarily retain support correspondence only as long as reasonably necessary and no longer than 24 months after the last substantive interaction, unless a longer period is reasonably required for security, accounting, dispute resolution or law. We may retain a minimal record of a resolved request where necessary to demonstrate compliance or prevent abuse.
9. Security
PressBench uses platform-private storage and verified store purchase mechanisms. iOS backup export and import use Apple’s Files interface and user-selected destinations. Android disables clear-text traffic, Android application backup and device-to-device transfer. Exported backup files are not encrypted by PressBench.
No device, transmission or storage method is completely secure. Keep your device and operating system updated, use device access controls, protect backup destinations and avoid entering unnecessary personal or confidential information.
10. International processing and service providers
Apple, Google, GitHub Pages, email providers, device platforms and user-selected export destinations may process information in more than one country under their own terms. GoodUse Studios does not automatically receive your local production database from these services.
11. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights concerning personal information GoodUse Studios actually holds, including access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, objection, withdrawal of consent and a complaint to a privacy regulator, subject to applicable law and exceptions.
Because GoodUse Studios does not receive the local production database or user-chosen backup files during ordinary use, requests to us normally concern support correspondence or other information we actually hold. Use PressBench, Files, device and selected provider controls for local and exported copies.
To make a privacy request, email lrodeveloperr@gmail.com with the subject PressBench Privacy Request. We may need proportionate information to verify the request and locate relevant records.
12. Children
PressBench is a professional utility intended only for adults aged 18 and over and is not directed to children. Do not use the App if you are below the age of legal majority that applies to you.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the App, service providers or legal requirements change. The current version and effective date will be posted here. Where required, additional notice or consent will be provided before a material change takes effect.
14. Contact and privacy lead
GoodUse Studios is responsible for this policy and has designated the operator as the privacy contact.
